The thrust of the Ministry of Works and Housing largely represents the ministry’ s focus and intention to provide services that are linked to good governance and as such, the demand for quality roads remains one of the core responsibilities of the ministry.
Through the expansion of the nation’s road network and the construction of better roads, the ministry has developed a national infrastructure and business plan for road development strategy.
The Ministry of Works and Housing provides optimal value in designing, building, operating and maintaining the roads, bridge and government buildings. Our services provide government with greater knowledge, efficiencies, savings and solutions. We deliver services that are smarter and faster—and at a reduced cost—to improve how government does business is paramount.
The department aims to achieve its mandate in an environment in which financial resources are limited.
The goal of the Building Department is to maintain the highest possible standard of construction in a manner that is consistent with available resources and best standards. Agreements for work supervised by the buildings department meet specific guidelines.
The ministry is tasked with the responsibility to meet the demands from other ministries and the populace but the limitations continue to increase. Therefore the Ministry of Works and Housing aims to meet expectations despite major limitations. The Buildings Department remains committed to service stakeholders within all areas through the provision of quality services even while resources remain limited.
